Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Public Relations Coordinator to support media and communications efforts, coordinating events, distributing press materials, and maintaining media relationships. This entry‑level role offers in‑office collaboration with remote flexibility in the vibrant Tembisa community.

You will work with the PR Manager to execute campaigns, track coverage, and manage press materials, gaining hands‑on experience in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in PR/communications, including internships.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with strong attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with media monitoring tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and implementation of public relations campaigns and strategies.
• Draft and distribute press releases, media alerts, and other communications materials.
• Coordinate logistics for press conferences, media events, and interviews, both in-person and virtual.
• Monitor media coverage and compile reports on campaign effectiveness and brand mentions.
• Maintain and update media contact databases and distribution lists.
• Provide administrative support to the PR department as needed.
