Placements24 in Gauteng (Tembisa) is seeking an entry-level Logistics Coordinator Trainee to assist in coordinating daily shipments, tracking updates, inventory records, and route planning. This hybrid role includes hands-on training across planning, execution, and monitoring of shipments, mentorship from seasoned pros, and opportunities to grow in warehousing and freight forwarding.

Ideal candidates are highly organized, detail-driven, excellent communicators, and eager to learn the end-to-end

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; a certificate in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office Suite).
• A proactive attitude and willingness to take initiative.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Keen attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Understanding of basic supply chain principles is beneficial but not essential.
• Must be eligible to work in South Africa.
• Must be able to commute to Tembisa, Gauteng for in-office requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating daily shipments and deliveries.
• Track shipments and provide real-time updates to stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory and logistics data.
• Support the logistics team in planning routes and optimizing delivery schedules.
• Communicate with carriers, suppliers, and customers to resolve any logistical issues.
• Learn and utilize logistics software and systems effectively.
• Assist in preparing shipping documents and customs paperwork.
• Monitor warehouse operations for efficiency and compliance.
• Identify potential disruptions and propose solutions.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss operational performance and improvements.
