Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Logistics Planner to join our team in Sandton in a hybrid role, coordinating transportation and optimizing routes. You will manage schedules, monitor progress, and work with carriers to ensure timely delivery while controlling costs.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical abilities with knowledge of TMS and logistics software, and can communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners to minimize disruptions and improve service.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Logistics Planner or in a similar transportation planning role.
• Strong knowledge of transportation modes, regulations, and best practices.
• Proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS) and other logistics software.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong organizational and communication abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement efficient transportation plans, optimizing routes and schedules to meet delivery deadlines.
• Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to ensure smooth execution of logistics operations.
• Monitor shipment progress and proactively address any delays or issues that may arise.
• Analyze logistics data to identify opportunities for cost reduction and service improvement.
• Maintain accurate records of all transportation activities and prepare relevant reports.
