Placements24 is seeking a junior legal officer to join our expanding legal team in Queenstown. This entry-level position offers a hybrid work arrangement, blending remote work with in-office collaboration to support a busy legal practice.

You will assist senior staff with legal research, drafting documents, and managing case files, gaining practical experience in a supportive environment across the Eastern Cape region.

Qualifications

• A relevant legal qualification (e.g., LLB degree or equivalent).
• 1-2 years of experience in a legal support role or internship is advantageous.
• Familiarity with legal research methods and tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Comfortable working in a hybrid environment and utilizing virtual collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research on various matters and prepare summaries.
• Assist in drafting legal documents, contracts, and correspondence.
• Organize and maintain legal files and databases.
• Provide administrative support to the legal team, including scheduling and communication.
• Support lawyers in preparing for meetings, hearings, and trials.
• Ensure compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
