Job summary

Hollard Insurance Company in Sandton, Gauteng seeks an experienced Incident Response Manager to lead cybersecurity incident management efforts. The role oversees a team of responders, coordinates crisis activities, and ensures minimal disruption to operations, with hybrid work options for essential on-site collaboration.

The ideal candidate has extensive incident response, digital forensics, and crisis management experience, strong leadership, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field; Master's preferred.
• 7+ years in cybersecurity with 3+ years in incident response/management.
• Proven leadership of incident response for complex breaches.
• Knowledge of incident response methodologies, digital forensics, and malware analysis.
• Strong knowledge of networks, OS, and security tech.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and crisis management.
• Experience with SIEM, EDR, and forensic tooling.
• Ability to perform under pressure and make rapid decisions.
• Experience in hybrid work environments.
• Relevant certifications such as GIAC (GCIH, GCFA), CISSP, or CISM are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute the incident response plan.
• Lead and mentor the incident response team.
• Oversee detection, containment, eradication, and recovery phases.
• Coordinate incident response across departments and external parties.
• Conduct post-incident analysis to identify root causes and preventive measures.
• Manage digital forensics investigations.
• Stay current with emerging threats and best practices.
• Develop and deliver incident response training and tabletop exercises.
• Manage relationships with external security vendors and law enforcement.
• Report trends and security posture to leadership.
