The position blends remote work flexibility with essential in-office collaboration. The ideal candidate has 4–6 years of relevant experience, strong commercial law expertise, and exposure to in-house counsel work within maritime or logistics.

Qualifikationen

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa with 4-6 years of relevant legal experience.
• Strong background in commercial law and contract drafting/negotiation.
• In-house counsel experience is advantageous; familiarity with maritime/logistics regulations is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts including supply and service agreements.
• Provide legal advice on governance, compliance and regulatory matters relevant to maritime and logistics sectors.
• Manage and advise on risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
• Conduct legal research and analysis on emerging legal issues and industry trends.
• Assist in managing litigation and dispute resolution processes, including liaising with external counsel.
• Advise on employment law issues pertinent to the company's workforce.
• Ensure compliance with local and international shipping regulations and maritime laws.
• Review and advise on insurance policies and claims.
• Support procurement and tender processes with legal input.
• Develop and maintain legal documentation and contract management systems.
