Placements24 seeks a dedicated Farm Manager to oversee crop production in the Tembisa region. This hybrid role combines on-site leadership with remote strategic planning to maximize yield and quality through efficient resource management and sustainable farming techniques.

You will supervise a local team, manage farm machinery, and contribute to broader company goals while ensuring operational excellence and adherence to safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Agriculture, Agronomy, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in farm management focused on crop production.
• Knowledge of modern farming techniques, crop science, and pest/disease management.
• Experience with irrigation systems and farm machinery.
• Ability to manage on-site teams and contribute in remote planning sessions.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily farm operations including planting, irrigation, pest control, and harvesting.
• Develop annual crop production plans with rotation, soil management, and fertilization.
• Oversee maintenance and operation of farm machinery and infrastructure.
• Manage farm labor, training, performance standards, and safety.
• Monitor crop health and performance, identifying issues and applying solutions.
• Maintain records of activities, inputs, yields, and financials.
