Placements24 is seeking a visionary Chief Enterprise Architect to define and guide the company's technology strategy and architectural landscape in a hybrid Sandton setting.

The role requires 15+ years of IT leadership experience, deep TOGAF and multi-domain expertise, and a proven track record in digital transformation within financial services. Lead executive teams, drive architecture standards, and collaborate with C-level leaders to align technology with strategic objectives.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in IT leadership, enterprise architecture, or a related strategic technology role, with significant executive-level exposure.
• Proven experience in defining and implementing enterprise-wide architecture strategies in large, complex organizations, preferably within financial services.
• Deep understanding of TOGAF and other architectural frameworks.
• Expertise across cloud computing, data management, application development, and cybersecurity.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills; excellent board-level communication.
• Experience driving digital transformation and working in a hybrid leadership model.
• Strong business acumen and understanding of financial markets.

Responsibilities

• Define and champion the enterprise architecture vision, strategy, and roadmap.
• Oversee architecture standards, principles, and governance across the organization.
• Ensure alignment between business strategies and IT architecture to drive innovation and efficiency.
• Lead and mentor a team of enterprise and solution architects.

• Collaborate with C-level executives to translate priorities into architectural requirements.

• Lead architectural decision-making and facilitate reviews with stakeholders.
• Develop relationships with vendors and industry peers.
• Oversee architecture for large-scale digital transformation initiatives.
