Job summary

Placements24 in Sandton is seeking a specialized Drainage Civil Engineer to join our client’s team in a hybrid role. You will design drainage systems for urban and rural development, manage stormwater runoff, and help prevent flooding while advancing sustainable water management practices.

The ideal candidate has a strong hydraulics and hydrology background, PE eligibility, and at least five years of drainage design experience, with proficiency in HEC-RAS or SWMM.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with Water Resources or Drainage specialization.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility.
• Minimum of 5 years' drainage design experience.
• Proficient with hydraulic modeling software (HEC-RAS, SWMM).

Responsibilities

• Design drainage systems including culverts, channels, retention ponds, and basins.
• Perform hydraulic and hydrological analyses for stormwater plans.
• Prepare drawings, calculations, and specs for drainage infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and BMPs.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to integrate drainage solutions.
• Provide site support during construction.
