Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Distribution Network Analyst to join a strategic team operating under a hybrid model across Northern Cape and Upington regions. The role focuses on optimizing distribution efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and resilience by analyzing network performance and designing strategic improvements.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and modeling skills, experience with network modeling software, and proficiency in data visualization tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field related to supply chain.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in distribution network design, logistics analysis, or supply chain optimization.
• Experience with network modeling software (e.g., Llamasoft, AnyLogic) or advanced analytical tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative modeling skills.
• Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (SQL, Excel, Tableau, Power BI).
• Excellent understanding of distribution network principles, transportation modes and warehousing operations.
• Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to articulate complex findings.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment with remote and on-site teams.

Responsibilities

• Analyze current distribution network performance and identify metrics, trends, and areas for improvement.
• Develop and maintain network models to evaluate strategies, locations, and transport modes.
• Conduct cost-benefit analyses for network design changes, including transport, warehousing and inventory costs.
• Collaborate with logistics, operations and sales to align requirements with network design.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve delivery times and service levels.
• Assess impact of demand, regulations, or market changes on the network.
• Develop strategies to improve resilience and risk mitigation.
• Prepare reports and presentations for senior management.
• Support implementation of network design changes and monitor effectiveness.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and new technologies in network optimization.
