Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proficient Control Systems Engineer for a hybrid role in Polokwane. You will design, program, and commission PLC-based control systems, develop HMIs, and implement SCADA for data acquisition and process management.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics and at least 5 years of experience in industrial automation, with hands-on PLC platform proficiency and strong networking knowledge.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial automation and control systems engineering.
Proficiency with major PLC platforms (Siemens, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Schneider Electric).
Experience in developing HMIs and SCADA systems is essential.
Strong knowledge of industrial networking protocols (Profibus, Ethernet/IP, Modbus).

Responsibilities

Design, program, and commission PLC-based control systems for industrial machinery and processes.
Develop and configure HMIs for operator control and monitoring.
Implement and maintain SCADA systems for data acquisition and process management.
Perform system integration to ensure communication between control components and enterprise systems.
Troubleshoot and optimize existing control systems to improve performance and reduce downtime.
Collaborate with mechanical engineers and operations teams to define automation requirements and solutions.
