Job summary

PBT Group is seeking an experienced AWS Python Developer to join a strategic cloud transformation programme within a leading South African financial institution. You will design and develop cloud-native, serverless components using AWS services in an Agile team environment.

Key work involves building RESTful APIs, integrating with SQS/SNS, and securing AWS resources. Hybrid Johannesburg position with a 12-month contract and emphasis on scalable, high-performance software.

Qualifications

• Hands-on software development experience in AWS serverless environments.
• Experience building production-grade AWS serverless solutions.
• Strong understanding of secure application design and cloud best practices.
• Ability to work independently within Agile teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop cloud-native applications using Python.
• Build secure REST APIs and API integrations.
• Design and develop AWS Lambda serverless functions.
• Develop event-driven integration solutions using SQS and SNS.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, BA and QA teams.
• Participate in code reviews and Agile ceremonies.
• Troubleshoot production issues and optimise performance.
• Contribute to technical documentation and best practices.
