Job summary

PBT Group in Johannesburg is seeking an experienced AWS Python Developer to join a strategic cloud transformation programme within one of South Africa's leading financial institutions.

You'll design and develop cloud-native solutions using AWS serverless technologies and Python, building REST APIs and API integrations within an Agile delivery team to replace a legacy on-premise system with a modern SaaS platform.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Python development with AWS serverless
• Experience designing REST APIs and integrating systems with API Gateway and IAM security
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures using SQS/SNS
• Experience delivering microservices in cloud environments
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code is a plus

Responsibilities

• Develop cloud-native applications using Python
• Build secure REST APIs and API integrations
• Design and develop AWS Lambda serverless functions
• Develop scalable event-driven integration solutions using SQS and SNS
• Design resilient, secure and high-performing integration services
• Collaborate with Solution Architects, Developers, Business Analysts and QA teams
• Participate in solution design, code reviews and Agile ceremonies
• Troubleshoot production issues and optimise application performance
• Contribute to technical documentation and best practices
