Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Childminder & Educational Assistant for a family in Centurion, Gauteng. The role blends on-site childcare with remote educational support for two children aged 6 and 8, during after-school hours and hybrid days.

You'll supervise, help with homework across subjects, prepare light meals, and coordinate learning activities aligned with school curricula, while maintaining safety and open communication with parents.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in childcare or tutoring.
• Strong academic background and ability to assist with homework across various subjects.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine interest in child development.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with children and parents.
• Must hold a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle.
• First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to adapt to a hybrid work schedule, balancing on-site childcare with remote educational support tasks.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and care for two children (ages 6 and 8) during after-school hours and designated hybrid days.
• Assist children with homework completion, ensuring understanding and accuracy.
• Organize and facilitate age-appropriate educational activities, games, and projects to supplement school learning.
• Prepare light snacks and meals for the children.
• Manage children's daily routines, including homework schedules and recreational time.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's academic progress and daily activities.
• Create a safe, engaging, and organized home environment for the children.
• Transport children to and from extracurricular activities as needed.
• Assist with light household chores related to the children's needs.
• Collaborate on planning and implementing learning objectives that align with the school curriculum.
