The position supports a hybrid work model, with on-site Polokwane engagement and remote tasks, contributing to diverse projects and driving scale-up efficiency and technology transfer to manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in process development, scale-up, or manufacturing support within the chemical industry.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus) and data analysis tools.
• Hands-on experience with pilot plant operations and troubleshooting.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize chemical processes for new product introductions from lab scale to pilot and commercial scale.
• Conduct feasibility studies, process simulations, and economic evaluations for new routes.
• Design and execute pilot plant trials to validate performance and gather scale-up data.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges during development and scale-up.
• Prepare detailed process documentation (PFDs, P&IDs, mass/energy balances, operating manuals).
• Collaborate with R&D, analytical, engineering, and manufacturing teams.
• Ensure safety, environmental impact, and cost-effectiveness in design.
• Support technology transfer to manufacturing sites.
• Analyze process data for continuous improvement.
