Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Architectural Assistant for a hybrid role in Port Elizabeth. You will support design and documentation under senior architects, producing drawings and coordinating with engineers on diverse Eastern Cape projects.

Ideal candidates hold a relevant degree, up to 4 years in practice, and strong CAD/BIM skills. The position offers growth, mentorship, and a collaborative environment within a respected regional firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or equivalent qualification.
• 0-4 years of architectural practice experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong technical drawing and visualization skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Must be legally eligible to work in South Africa.
• Based in or willing to commute to Port Elizabeth for in-office days.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of architectural designs and presentations.
• Produce detailed architectural drawings, plans, and sections using CAD and BIM software.
• Support the development of construction documentation, including specifications and schedules.
• Coordinate with engineers and consultants to integrate various building systems.
• Conduct site visits to gather information and monitor construction progress.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes, standards, and regulations.
• Assist in the preparation of planning applications and permit submissions.
• Maintain project records and documentation in an organized manner.
• Research building materials and construction techniques.
