Job summary

Pro Select Consulting is seeking an experienced HR Manager in Verulam, KwaZulu-Natal, to lead the human resources function across the employee lifecycle and compliance with labour legislation. You will partner with management to implement HR policies, drive performance management, payroll coordination, recruitment, and reporting.

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in Human Resources Management or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years' HR experience, preferably in construction, civil engineering, logistics or a similar operational environment.
• Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation and employee relations processes.
• Experience with disciplinary and grievance matters.
• Payroll and HRIS experience; Sage Payroll professional experience would be advantageous.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with both operational employees and senior management.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full employee lifecycle from recruitment and onboarding through to termination.
• Maintain accurate employee files, HR records, contracts, amendments and employee documentation.
• Manage recruitment processes, including vacancy advertising, screening, interviews, selection and onboarding.
• Manage disciplinary, grievance, incapacity and absenteeism processes in accordance with company procedures and applicable labour legislation.
• Liaise with external Employee Relations/Labour Relations consultants where required.
• Work closely with Finance to ensure accurate payroll processing and verify hours, leave, deductions and employee changes.
• Administer employee benefits, including medical aid, funeral cover and related documentation.
• Ensure compliance with applicable labour legislation, including the BCEA, LRA, EEA, UIF and COIDA requirements.
• Prepare and maintain documentation for labour, statutory and internal audits.
• Coordinate performance management, probation reviews, KPIs and performance improvement processes.
• Prepare HR reports covering headcount, turnover, absenteeism, leave, recruitment and employee relations matters.
• Provide HR guidance and support to management and employees.
