Job summary

Ejobdesign is seeking a dedicated Gardener/ Grounds Attendant in Newlands, Cape Town. The role involves maintaining lawns and plants, operating irrigation systems, and supporting outdoor events. Candidates should have 1–3 years in grounds work, basic horticultural training, and be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

The position is monthly paid with English language competency. Training and development opportunities are available within a respected hospitality environment.

Qualifications

Matric (NQF 4) and basic horticultural training.
1–3 years of grounds maintenance or gardening experience.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Experience with garden machinery is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Mow lawns, trim edges, water plants, weed beds, maintain indoor plants, sweep pathways, clean pools, and report debris.
Assist with planting, pruning, fertilizing, and seasonal changes per landscaping plans.
Ensure irrigation and greywater systems function; report leaks and adjust sprinklers.
Inspect walkways and garden furniture; keep outdoor areas safe and guest-ready.
Operate, clean, and store gardening tools; report damages for repair.
Assist with outdoor events and landscaping projects as directed.
