Job summary

CampusKey Student Living seeks a hands-on Maintenance Assistant on a three-month fixed-term contract with the potential for permanent employment thereafter. You will handle on-site maintenance requests, assist students and sub-contractors, and support the site team after hours and weekends.

The ideal candidate has basic handyman skills, at least 1 year in hotel/hospitality, and strong verbal communication in English and Afrikaans (plus a third language preferred).

Qualifications

• Strong verbal communication in English, Afrikaans and preferably a 3rd language.
• Basic handyman skills are required.
• At least 1 year experience in a hotel/hospitality environment.
• Demonstrate integrity, dependability, responsibility and empathy.
• Passion and understanding for CampusKey vision and values.

Responsibilities

• Receive and execute maintenance requests from a job-card system.
• Assist students with maintenance as required.
• Manage and assist sub-contractors on site.
• Be available after hours and on weekends to assist with maintenance issues.
• Assist with site walks to execute the noise protocol.
• Good stock taking and stock management skills.
• Operate the maintenance tracking system electronically (phone APP).
• Assist Community function team when required.
• Follow operational protocol.
