Placements24 is seeking an Advanced Hygiene Specialist for a flagship hotel in George, Western Cape to uphold exceptional cleanliness standards and ensure a safe, sanitary guest experience. The role blends on-site supervision with planning for hygiene initiatives across guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house operations.

You will design and implement sanitation plans, conduct audits, train staff, manage supplies, and stay ahead of health regulations.

Qualifications

• Experience in hygiene or sanitation management in hospitality.
• Deep knowledge of cleaning chemicals and SDS.
• Familiarity with HACCP and health regulations.
• Experience conducting audits and corrective actions.
• Excellent organizational and time management.
• Strong communication and staff training ability.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office for reporting.
• Detail-oriented with flexible weekend/public holiday work.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain hygiene plans for all hotel operations.
• Audit guest rooms, restaurants, kitchens, and public areas for compliance.
• Train housekeeping and food service staff on cleaning and sanitization.
• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Address guest or staff hygiene concerns promptly.
• Stay updated on cleaning tech, eco-friendly solutions, regulations.
• Oversee use and maintenance of cleaning machinery.
• Liaise with maintenance to ensure sanitation facilities.
• Develop and deliver infection control and food safety training.
• Maintain records of inspections, training, and supply usage.
