Cleaners will follow strict infection control steps, maintain cleaning logs, and support terminal cleans of isolation rooms after patient discharge, as part of a sterile, patient-safe ward operation.

Qualifications

• Willing to follow strict infection control steps every time.

Responsibilities

• Wear gowns, masks and gloves as each room requires.
• Clean patient rooms using colour-coded cloths and mops for each area.
• Take soiled linen to the sluice room and bring clean linen back.
• Mop spills of blood or fluids using the spill kit.
• Fill in cleaning logs so infection control can audit the ward.
• Do terminal cleans of isolation rooms after a patient is discharged.
