Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Hospital Environmental Services Technician to ensure a clean, safe, and sterile environment for patients, staff and visitors at our Mossel Bay facility. You will perform cleaning and disinfection tasks in patient rooms, operating theatres, and common areas in accordance with hospital protocols.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospital or healthcare environmental services.
• A knowledge of hospital cleaning procedures and infection control standards.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions with minimal supervision.
• Physical stamina for standing, walking, bending and lifting.
• Understanding of HIPAA and patient privacy.
• Compassionate and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and deep cleaning of hospital areas.
• Disinfect surfaces and high-touch areas with hospital-grade disinfectants.
• Handle and dispose of medical waste and biohazards per protocols.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment (buffers, extractors, vacuums).
• Respond to cleaning needs in emergencies or spills.
• Follow infection control policies and wear PPE.
