Job summary

EdUpStairs is seeking a hospital cleaning services professional to maintain high standards of cleanliness and infection prevention within a health facility.

The role requires physical stamina, experience with cleaning principles, and the ability to operate industrial cleaning equipment. You will support linen, food services and waste management while coordinating with supervisors and teammates.

Qualifications

• Basic numeracy and literacy skills are required.
• Experience in cleaning services and infection control within a health facility is required.
• Must be physically able to be on feet for long hours and to lift and move heavy objects.
• Ability to operate industrial machinery and equipment used in hospital cleaning services.
• Willingness to work shifts, including night duty, weekends and public holidays, with overtime as required.
• Knowledge of proper handling and disposal of domestic refuse and medical waste.
• Knowledge of cleaning principles and infection prevention control.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within the hospital to prevent the spread of infection.
• Manage resources efficiently via correct usage, ordering and safekeeping of equipment, materials and cleaning solutions.
• Provide linen management and food services support functions.
• Provide waste management services for proper handling of all waste types (domestic, medical, anatomical).
• Support the supervisor and colleagues and adhere to policies and prescripts.
