Placements24 is seeking a skilled Horticulturist to join their Centurion grounds team. You will design, implement, and maintain diverse plant displays across extensive grounds, focusing on beauty, biodiversity, and sustainable practices.

The role requires a degree or diploma in Horticulture or Botany and at least five years of professional landscape experience, with hands-on expertise in irrigation, soil analysis, and IPM.

Qualifications

• A degree or diploma in Horticulture, Botany, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in horticulture or landscape management.
• Expert knowledge of plant identification, physiology, and care requirements for a variety of species.
• Experience with irrigation systems, soil analysis, and fertilizer application.
• Ability to design and implement creative and sustainable garden landscapes.
• Strong understanding of pest and disease identification and management.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and execute planting schedules and garden layouts.
• Cultivate and maintain diverse plant collections, including ornamental plants, shrubs, and trees.
• Manage soil health, nutrient levels, and irrigation systems for optimal plant growth.

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled and passionate Horticulturist to join their team in Centurion . This role focuses on the cultivation, management, and care of a wide variety of plants, flowers, and trees within their extensive grounds. You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining aesthetically pleasing and ecologically sound horticultural displays. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of plant science, soil biology, and sustainable gardening practices. This position requires a creative mind, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with groundskeeping staff.
