Job summary

Curro Holdings Ltd. seeks an IT Teacher for Grades 10 to 12 at Northern Academy in Polokwane to commence duties in January 2027. The position is full-time and involves teaching and coordinating a range of FET subjects per the Curro curriculum.

The successful candidate will hold a BEd and/or PGCE in FET education, have at least three years of FET teaching experience, and be proficient in CAPS. Applicants should submit a CV and qualifications with SACE registration as applicable.

Qualifications

• BEd degree and/or PGCE in FET phase education, with an honours degree in education (in the relevant subject/s) advantageous.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as an FET phase teacher.
• Knowledge of the CAPS curriculum.
• Proven facilitation, problem-solving and report-writing skills.
• Excellent communication, organisational and planning skills.
• Willing and able to work extended hours and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Teach and coordinate subjects per Curro curriculum for the FET phase.
• Plan lessons, set up workbooks and measure academic progress.
• Set up and adjust term plans, with differentiated materials for barriers to learning.
• Create baseline assessments and advise subject choices and remedial work.
• Plan and manage the classroom, assessment rosters, and parent communication.
• Set up and manage formal and continuous assessments and homework.
• Plan extramural activities and provide one-on-one tutoring.
