Job summary

Curro Holdings Ltd seeks a Mathematics Teacher (FET Phase) for Curro Mbombela in Mbombela, starting January 2027. The role involves delivering the Curro curriculum, planning lessons, and supporting learners through assessment and remedial activities.

Applicants should hold a BEd or PGCE in FET phase education with honours advantageous, and have at least 3 years’ FET teaching experience. Willingness to work extended hours and weekends is expected.

Qualifications

• BEd degree and/or PGCE in FET phase education, with an honours degree in education (advantageous).
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as an FET phase teacher.
• Knowledge of the CAPS curriculum.
• Facilitation, problem-solving and report-writing skills.
• Excellent communication, organisational and planning skills.
• Willing and able to work extended hours and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Teach and coordinate a range of subjects as per the Curro curriculum for the FET phase.
• Plan lessons using modern-day tools and processes, set up workbooks, and measure academic progress.
• Set up, implement, monitor and adjust term plans, considering exams and differentiated learning materials.
• Manage the classroom, assessment rosters, and communication with learners and parents.
• Set up and manage assessments (formal and continuous) and homework, including moderation and revision.
• Plan and manage extramural activities and outings.
• Provide one-on-one tutoring support and extra lessons.
