Job summary

Curro Holdings Ltd. in Cape Town seeks an Afrikaans FAL Teacher (Grades 8–12) for Curro Century City, starting January 2027. The role involves teaching and coordinating FET-phase subjects, delivering Curro curriculum, and promoting learner growth through active teaching approaches.

The ideal candidate holds a BEd or PGCE in FET and has at least 3 years of FET experience with knowledge of the IEB curriculum. Enthusiasm for extended hours and weekends is required.

Qualifications

• BEd/PGCE in FET education with emphasis on the relevant subjects.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as an FET phase teacher.
• Knowledge of the IEB curriculum.
• Facilitation, problem-solving and report-writing skills.
• Excellent communication, organisational and planning skills.
• Willing and able to work extended hours and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Teach and coordinate subjects per Curro curriculum for FET phase.
• Plan lessons, set up workbooks and monitor academic progress.
• Manage term plans, assessments and differentiated materials.
• Create baseline assessments and provide guidance on subject choices.
• Plan classroom management, assessment rosters and parent communication.
• Coordinate assessments and homework; supervise moderation and revision.
• Organise extramural activities and provide tutoring support.
