Qualifications

• Professional degree in Architecture with heritage conservation specialization.
• Minimum of 7 years in heritage architecture or related field.
• Knowledge of South African heritage legislation and heritage agencies.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and architectural documentation.
• Strong research, analytical and report-writing skills.
• Understanding of traditional building materials and conservation methods.
• Experience with adaptive reuse projects is highly desirable.
• Ability to work in a hybrid model in Mahikeng.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication for client engagement.

Responsibilities

• Conduct heritage assessments and prepare heritage impact reports for proposed developments.
• Develop conservation management plans and strategies for heritage buildings and sites.
• Design and oversee restoration, conservation, and adaptive reuse projects for heritage assets.
• Liaise with provincial and local heritage authorities (e.g., SAHRA) to secure approvals.
• Advise clients on heritage legislation, policies, and best practices.
• Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and documentation for heritage projects.
• Collaborate with engineers, historians, archaeologists, and other specialists.
• Undertake site investigations and detailed condition surveys of heritage structures.
• Manage heritage projects, ensuring adherence to budgets, timelines, and conservation standards.
• Contribute to the firm's expertise in heritage conservation.
