Placements24 is seeking an experienced Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Driver for our Mossel Bay operation in the Western Cape. You will operate large commercial vehicles, perform routine checks, and ensure on-time deliveries while upholding safety and professionalism.

Ideal candidates have a Code 14/EC license with PrDP, a clean driving record, and at least five years of HGV experience. Role includes full-time work, potential overtime, and company-provided HGV and fuel in Mossel Bay.

Qualifications

• Valid Code 14/EC driver's license with a valid PrDP (Professional Driving Permit).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience driving Heavy Goods Vehicles.
• A clean driving record with no major traffic violations or accidents.
• Familiarity with route planning and navigation using GPS/maps.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Operate Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) safely and efficiently.
• Transport goods within Mossel Bay region and beyond.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
• Report mechanical issues to fleet manager promptly.
• Securely load and unload cargo with proper weight distribution.

Our client, a leading national distributor of industrial goods, is seeking an experienced and professional Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Driver to join their expanding team in Mossel Bay, Western Cape . This role is vital for the timely and secure transportation of goods across various routes, ensuring customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess a valid Code 14/EC driver's license, a pristine driving record, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and professionalism. You will be responsible for operating large commercial vehicles, performing routine checks, and ensuring deliveries are made according to schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) safely and efficiently in accordance with all traffic laws and company policies.
• Transport goods to various destinations within the Mossel Bay, Western Cape region and potentially beyond.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking tires, brakes, lights, and fluid levels.
• Report any mechanical issues or required maintenance to the fleet manager promptly.
• Securely load and unload cargo, ensuring proper weight distribution and safety of the goods.
• Maintain accurate logbooks and delivery documentation.
• Provide excellent customer service during delivery and pick-up operations.
• Adhere to strict delivery schedules and communicate any delays or issues to dispatch.
• Represent the company professionally at all times during interactions with clients and the public in Mossel Bay .
