Qualifications

• Proven experience in sanitation management within healthcare facilities (hospital, clinic, long-term care).
• Strong knowledge of infection control principles and healthcare sanitation best practices.
• Familiarity with relevant healthcare regulations and standards.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to train and motivate a team effectively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Flexibility to adapt work schedule based on operational needs (hybrid model).
• A relevant certification in Infection Control or Environmental Health is highly desirable.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Bloemfontein, Free State.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive sanitation and infection control programs in line with healthcare standards.
• Lead, train, and supervise a team of sanitation personnel, ensuring adherence to strict protocols.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure cleanliness, sterility, and regulatory compliance.
• Manage inventory and proper use of disinfectants, cleaning supplies, and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with national and local healthcare regulations and guidelines.
• Investigate and respond to sanitation-related incidents or concerns promptly.
• Collaborate with hospital administration, nursing staff, and infection control teams.
• Maintain detailed records of sanitation activities, training, and inspection findings.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance infection prevention and control.
• Oversee waste management procedures, particularly biohazardous waste, ensuring safe disposal.
