Qualifications

• Matric and a recognised Health and Safety qualification.
• Registration with a recognised safety body where applicable.
• Solid knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations.
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial, construction, logistics or similar environments.
• Basic computer literacy and a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain health and safety policies, procedures and programmes.
• Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections, safety audits and risk assessments.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses and implement corrective measures.
• Maintain health and safety files, registers, checklists and legal documentation.
• Coordinate internal and external audits including Labour, Transport and Shell audits.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety meetings, staff training and regular fire drills.
• Coordinate annual employee medical examinations and training schedules.
• Ensure lifting equipment is load-tested and safety equipment is serviced and compliant.
• Monitor drivers’ dangerous goods permits and forklift licenses.
• Manage issuing and daily use of PPE and ensure safety signage is up to date.

Minimum requirements:

• Matric


• Relevant Health and Safety qualification, such as SAMTRAC, NEBOSH, an Occupational Health and Safety Diploma, or equivalent


• Registration with a recognised safety body, where applicable


• Sound knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and applicable regulations


• Previous experience in manufacturing, industrial, construction, logistics or a similar environment


• Basic computer literacy


• Valid driver's license

Key Responsibilities:
