Job summary

Astor Motor Recruitment seeks an experienced General Sales Manager for a brand-new pre-owned dealership in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town. You will lead the used vehicle operation, drive stock valuation, pricing, reconditioning, and sales performance to ensure profitability and growth.

The role requires a minimum 5 years of dealership management experience, strong leadership, and excellent customer relationships. A track record in stock turn, market trends, and DMS proficiency is essential.

Qualifications

• Matric certificate required.
• Minimum 5 years' management experience within the automotive industry.
• Strong used vehicle dealership or used vehicle lot experience.
• In-depth understanding of used vehicle valuations, purchasing, trade‑ins, and stock acquisition.
• Proven ability to drive sales volumes while protecting gross profit.
• Strong commercial, financial, and business management acumen.
• Experience managing and developing a high‑performing sales team.
• Excellent understanding of stock turn, ageing, pricing strategies, and market trends.
• Strong negotiation, leadership, and decision‑making skills.
• Ability to analyse management reports and use performance data to drive results.
• Excellent communication and customer relationship management skills.
• Computer literate, with dealership DMS experience.
• Valid driver’s licence
• Clear criminal record and sober habits
• Contactable references
