Job summary

Direct Transact is seeking a Head of Quality Assurance to lead the QA/Quality Engineering function for its financial software platform. The role focuses on transforming testing from reactive to proactive quality engineering across the SDLC, ensuring payment system reliability and regulatory compliance.

The candidate will embed a culture of quality ownership, build a Centre of Excellence, and drive innovations in automation, AI-assisted defect detection, and scalable testing across microservices

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years in Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering
• At least 5 years in a senior leadership or Head of QA role
• Experience in FinTech, Banking, or Payments is essential
• Tertiary education in Computer Science or Software Engineering is required
• Industry certifications such as ISTQB Advanced Level, ITIL, or SAFe are desirable

Responsibilities

• Define long-term QA strategy and roadmap aligned with business objectives
• Lead, mentor and scale the QA/Quality Engineering team
• Establish and promote a QA Centre of Excellence with best practices
• Standardize and optimize QA processes for efficiency and quality
• Own automation framework across unit, integration, functional and end-to-end tests
• Integrate QA into CI/CD pipelines for rapid, reliable deployments
• Oversee performance, load, and resilience testing for mission-critical systems
• Leverage AI/ML for predictive defect detection and test case generation
• Ensure regulatory compliance testing for PCI DSS and other standards
• Collaborate with IT leadership, development managers, BAs, and clients
