About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly accomplished and visionary Head of Project Management to lead their diverse portfolio of initiatives in Benoni, Gauteng . This senior leadership position requires a strategic thinker with exceptional organizational skills and a proven ability to deliver complex projects on time and within budget. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining best practices in project management, leading and mentoring a team of project managers, and ensuring the successful execution of strategic objectives. This role is crucial for driving operational excellence and supporting the company's growth trajectory within the competitive Gauteng market. The position requires a consistent presence at our Benoni office to foster team collaboration and maintain direct oversight.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish, implement, and oversee the organization's project management methodology, standards, and processes.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project managers, ensuring high performance and professional growth.
• Oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of all major projects across the organization.
• Develop and manage project portfolios, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals and objectives.
• Manage project budgets, resources, and timelines effectively, mitigating risks and resolving issues proactively.
• Foster strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, providing clear and consistent communication regarding project status.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; PMP or PRINCE2 certification is mandatory.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing multiple project managers.
• Demonstrated success in delivering large-scale, complex projects across various industries.
• Expertise in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Jira).
• Strong leadership, team-building, and motivational skills.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, resources, and risks effectively.
• Deep understanding of project lifecycle, from initiation to closure.
