Job summary

Jobtailor is recruiting a senior leader to direct MI, BI and data analytics for Private Wealth Banking in Johannesburg. You will shape strategy, govern analytics, and deliver high-quality executive reporting across the function.

You will lead a team of MI professionals, drive data-driven decision support, and partner with Finance, Technology and senior stakeholders to elevate reporting platforms and automation.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in Management Information, Business Intelligence, Data Analytics or Performance Reporting.
• Proven leadership experience managing specialist analytical or MI teams.
• Strong knowledge of Finance data, reporting, analytics and business performance management.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience with SQL, Power BI and business intelligence tools.
• Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
• Experience within Banking, Wealth Management or Financial Services.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience with SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, SAS, Hadoop, Databricks or similar technologies.
• Experience in data governance, data engineering and advanced analytics.
• Relevant postgraduate qualification and/or professional certification.
• Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Business, Commerce and Management Studies.
• Compliance with regulatory requirements, the Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework, and applicable policies and standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop tactical strategy and delivery plans for customer analytics methodology, governance and delivery objectives.
• Lead the Management Information, Business Intelligence and Data Analytics capability for Private Wealth Banking.
• Deliver high-quality management information, performance insights and data-driven decision support for executive leadership.
• Lead MI reporting, analytics, data governance, business intelligence solutions and reporting enablement.
• Deliver management information, performance reporting, dashboards and business insights across Private Wealth Banking.
• Translate complex data into meaningful insights and recommendations for strategic and operational decision-making.
• Drive continuous improvement in reporting, automation, analytics and data visualisation capabilities.
• Ensure the accuracy, integrity, security and governance of management information.
• Establish and maintain controls, standards and processes for MI delivery.
• Identify and manage data, reporting and operational risks.
• Partner with executive leadership, Finance, Technology, Data and Business teams to understand information requirements and deliver insights.
• Build relationships across the business and act as the key point of contact for MI-related matters.
• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing MI team.
• Drive accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement and service excellence.
• Manage team priorities, resource planning and delivery against business objectives.
• Oversee MI technologies, reporting platforms and data infrastructure.
• Drive automation, reporting efficiency and modern analytics capabilities.
• Manage data dependencies and reporting solutions.
• Report to the CFO of Private Wealth Banking and engage regularly with Exco and senior business stakeholders.
• Participate as a member of the PWB Finance Leadership Team
