Job summary

St Dunstan’s College in Benoni seeks an exceptional Head of Learning Support for the Preparatory School, commencing January 2027 or by arrangement. You will lead the Learning Support Department, assess pupils, and implement Student Support Plans while collaborating with teachers and parents to enable every child to flourish both academically and socially.

You will manage budgets, mentor staff, maintain records, and ensure compliant practice, including liaison with external professionals like

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Education or relevant undergraduate degree plus PGCE specialised in the Intermediate/Foundation phase.
• Current and valid registration with the South African Council for Educators (SACE).
• 2–5 years of teaching experience, preferably in an independent preparatory school context.
• Experience in Time2Read, Ravo and IE would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and evaluate the Learning Support strategy in line with the school’s vision and ethos.
• Identify, assess and support pupils with diverse learning needs.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents and external professionals to tailor support.
