Job summary

Moniepoint Inc. is seeking a Head of Engineering to drive the technical direction for Monnify, the online payment acceptance platform, and to ensure scalability, security and an excellent developer experience for internal and external users.

You will lead engineering managers across multiple teams, own API-first developer tools, and guide multi-currency, international expansion while maintaining reliability and compliance within a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering with leadership experience.
• 5+ years leading engineering managers.
• 5+ years hands-on production Java development.
• Experience in payments/fintech with regulatory awareness.
• Strong API-first platform and developer tools experience.
• Proven ability to scale high-throughput backend systems.
• Experience with multi-currency payments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the full technical strategy, architecture and roadmap for the Monnify platform across all capability areas.
• Lead multiple engineering teams through engineering managers, setting quality standards and building organisational capability.
• Own the developer experience end-to-end, including APIs, documentation, SDKs and integration ease.
• Drive platform evolution towards multi-currency and international scalability.
• Ensure platform reliability, scalability and security within a regulated environment.
• Partner with product, commercial and operations teams to align technical investments with business goals.
• Hire, mentor and develop engineering managers and senior engineers to support growth.
