Job summary

Emeris, Ruimsig Campus, invites applications for Head of Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic Engineering). The post holder will lead the School on campus, manage academic operations, and shape teaching and learning strategies to ensure excellence across programmes.

Responsibilities include recruitment and development of academic staff, industry engagement, programme accreditation support, and oversight of student support.

Qualifications

• Masters or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic Engineering (NQF Level 9).
• Preference for PhD and postgraduate-supervision experience (NQF Level 9).
• Minimum 5 years teaching and learning experience (preferably in a teaching environment).

Responsibilities

• Provide academic leadership and manage the School on campus.
• Plan resource allocation for academic operations of all programmes on campus.
• Review academic results and implement teaching/learning strategies for at-risk students/modules.
• Lead recruitment and development of the academic team; oversee staff performance.
• Support accreditation processes and development of new programmes.
• Lecturing up to 100 hours per semester; contribute to research and scholarship.
