Job summary

Edge Executive Search Group is partnering with a leading engineering education organisation in Gauteng to appoint a Head of Education and Training. You will drive the long-term academy strategy, oversee programme design and CPD governance, and mentor a high‑performing team.

You will build partnerships with universities, industry and government, manage budgets, and lead initiatives to strengthen professional development for engineers, while ensuring sustainability and measurable impact across all

Qualifications

• Degree (NQF 7) in Civil Engineering.
• Professional registration with a recognized engineering body.
• 8–10 years of relevant experience in education and training management.
• Strong strategic planning, leadership and management skills.
• Expertise in quality assurance and curriculum governance.
• Proven ability to manage budgets and business development activities.
• Excellent client relationship management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the long-term academy strategy aligned with organizational goals.
• Lead the design, development, and continuous enhancement of education and training programmes.
• Build professional development and mentorship pathways for engineers and emerging professionals.
• Strengthen partnerships with universities, industry stakeholders, and government bodies.
• Drive quality assurance, curriculum governance, and ensure CPD compliance across all programmes.
• Oversee learning management systems, digital platforms, reporting, and analytics.
• Support business growth through corporate training solutions and client engagement.
• Champion transformation and inclusion initiatives across learning programmes.
• Manage budgets, revenue planning, pricing, and ensure the financial sustainability of the Academy.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the Education and Training team, reporting performance to executive leadership.
