Job summary

GoTyme Bank in Johannesburg seeks a Head of Data Analytics to lead the data science capability across key business functions. You will translate priorities into a clear analytics roadmap, lead a high-performing team, and drive decisions that improve business outcomes.

The role emphasizes moving from reactive requests to proactive insight, experimentation, and responsible use of advanced analytics and AI, collaborating with governance and engineering functions to deliver trusted analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, data science, CS, engineering or econometrics.
• Postgraduate qualification advantageous.
• Strong leadership and track record delivering analytics in a large organisation.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the analytics strategy and roadmap across Marketing, Fraud, AML, Customer Experience, Distribution and Partnerships.
• Lead and develop a team of data scientists and senior data scientists; ensure measurable business impact.
• Manage prioritisation, delivery cadence, capacity planning and cross-team coordination.
• Ensure governance, privacy, model governance and regulatory compliance for analytics outputs.
• Partner with stakeholders to translate insights into decisions and actions.
