About the Role

Our client, a prominent company operating in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, is seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Business Operations to oversee and drive operational excellence across the organization. This senior leadership role requires a visionary individual capable of shaping and executing operational strategies that align with the company's growth objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing complex business functions, optimizing processes, and leading diverse teams. This position offers a flexible hybrid work model, balancing essential on-site collaboration in Durban with remote work capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and implement overarching operational strategies to support business growth and profitability.
• Oversee and manage various business operations functions, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
• Lead and mentor a team of operational managers and staff, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational success.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all operational areas.
• Manage departmental budgets, control expenditures, and ensure financial accountability.
• Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and company standards within KwaZulu-Natal.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to set strategic goals and drive organizational development.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of senior-level experience in business operations management.
• Proven track record of successfully leading operational transformations and strategic initiatives.
• Strong financial management skills, including budgeting and P&L oversight.
• Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in implementing and leveraging technology to improve operations.
• Familiarity with the South African business environment, particularly in Durban and KwaZulu-Natal.
• Ability to adapt to a hybrid work environment and manage teams effectively.
• Demonstrated experience in driving change management processes.
