Placements24 in Port Elizabeth is seeking a visionary Director of Aquatics Programs to lead all aquatic facilities and programs. The role drives safety, quality, and member satisfaction across swim lessons, teams, and recreational activities.

You will oversee lifeguards, instructors, and staff, manage budgets, and foster growth in a collaborative community setting dedicated to health and recreation through water-based activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, Sports Management, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in aquatic management or supervision.
• Current certifications such as Lifeguard Instructor, Pool Operator (CPO), and First Aid/CPR are essential.
• Proven ability to develop and manage diverse aquatic programming.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing budgets and staff effectively.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive range of aquatic programs, including swim lessons, competitive teams, and recreational activities.
• Ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations, certifications, and emergency procedures for lifeguards and aquatic staff.
• Manage the recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation of all aquatic personnel.
• Oversee the maintenance, cleanliness, and operational efficiency of all aquatic facilities and equipment.
• Develop and manage the annual budget for the aquatics department, including revenue generation and expense control.
• Promote aquatic programs to the community and ensure a positive and inclusive experience for all participants.
