Placements24 is seeking a visionary Director of Aquatics and Recreation in Centurion, Gauteng. This senior role oversees all aquatic programs, facilities, and recreational services, ensuring safe, high-quality experiences for members and the community.

You will lead a team, drive strategic initiatives, and manage budgets while promoting health and involvement across diverse recreational offerings. A strong background in aquatic operations and leadership is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, Sports Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years in aquatics and recreation facilities, with 3+ years in a senior leadership role.
• Knowledge of aquatic operations, safety protocols, and pool management.
• Experience in program development, budgeting, and staff supervision.
• Strong marketing, PR and customer service understanding.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Desirable: CPO certification or equivalent.

Responsabilités

• Develop strategic plans for aquatics and recreation programs and facilities.
• Oversee daily operations of aquatic facilities ensuring safety and cleanliness.
• Manage diverse programs including swimming lessons, fitness classes, camps, and events.
• Supervise and develop staff including lifeguards, instructors, and coordinators.
• Create and manage departmental budget, revenues, and capex planning.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards.
• Lead marketing to boost participation and usage.
• Build partnerships with local schools and community groups.
• Oversee facility maintenance and capital improvement projects.
• Stay updated on industry trends to improve service delivery.
