Job summary

Standard Bank Group is seeking an experienced audit leader to head the audit process across multiple portfolios in line with the Group Internal Audit strategy. The role focuses on independent assurance, IT controls, and advisory services to manage risk in the banking ecosystem.

The ideal candidate will have a postgraduate IT/CS/IS degree, ISACA/CISA/CIA or equivalent certifications, and extensive leadership experience in financial services.

Qualifications

• Post graduate or degree in IT/CS/IS required.
• ISACA membership or equivalent is preferred.
• CISA, CIA or equivalent certifications desired.
• CISM, CGEIT, CRISC, CCAK or equivalent certifications preferred.
• Leadership and finance strategy programmes are advantageous.
• Experience across financial services or banking is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and review the audit process across multiple portfolios.
• Provide independent assurance and objective advice per IA strategy.
• Engage with senior stakeholders and regulators.
• Oversee IT general and application controls reviews.
• Develop and lead large audit teams; manage change.

Job description

Location: ZA, GP, Johannesburg, 30 Baker Street

To lead and review the audit process for multiple portfolio's and area of specialty in line with the Group Internal Audit strategy to provide independent and objective assurance and advice within a segment or area of expertise to ensure sustainable client centric management of risk across SBG.

Qualifications

• Post Graduate Degree/Degree IT/Computer Science/Information Systems
• Other Minimum Qualifications, certifications or professional memberships ie (CISA, CIA)
• ISACA Membership or equivalent
• Other relevant ISACA or equivalent certifications (CISM, CGEIT, CRISC, CCAK)
• Management/Leadership programmes through accredited institutes
• Financial services strategy programmes

Experience required:

• 10 years proven experience in project/programme management, and leading multiple audit/advisory projects across the organization.
• Experience in building partnerships and engaging with multiple stakeholders at senior levels and regulators across the ecosystem.
• Experience in understanding IT general and application controls and analysing complex sets of data to interpret, visualize and identify trends.
• Experience in building and leading large teams; Change management experience.
