Placements24 is seeking an innovative Head Chef to lead a high-volume catering kitchen in Centurion. You will craft diverse menus, manage sourcing and budgeting, and mentor the kitchen team to deliver exceptional gastronomic experiences.

The role combines leadership with creative menu development and strict adherence to HACCP and health codes, with a hybrid work model for flexibility between kitchen operations and menu development.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef, with a strong background in a high-volume catering or fine dining environment.
• Exceptional culinary skills with expertise in diverse cuisines and presentation techniques.
• Proven leadership abilities, including team management, training, and motivation.
• Thorough understanding of kitchen budgeting, cost control, and inventory management.
• Knowledge of food safety standards, such as HACCP, and a commitment to maintaining a safe kitchen environment.
• Creative flair and a passion for delivering exceptional gastronomic experiences.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, develop, and execute diverse and high-quality menus for various catering events, considering client preferences and dietary needs.
• Lead, train, and mentor the kitchen brigade, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Manage all kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, plating, and maintaining impeccable hygiene standards.
• Oversee ingredient sourcing, procurement, inventory management, and waste reduction to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
• Collaborate with the Catering Manager to align menu offerings with event themes and client expectations.
• Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and health codes, conducting regular kitchen inspections.
