Job summary

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead the culinary team at a prestigious luxury wine estate in Franschhoek, Western Cape. The successful candidate will bring a strong fine dining background and a hands-on leadership style to maintain exceptional standards and seamless kitchen operations.

You will develop innovative seasonal menus, manage costs and suppliers, and mentor a talented kitchen team to deliver memorable dining experiences in a demanding luxury setting.

Qualifications

• Proven Head Chef experience in fine dining or luxury wine estate.
• Formal culinary qualification or equivalent training.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Experience with budgeting, food costs and supplier management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure top quality and presentation.
• Develop seasonal menus using local, sustainable ingredients.
• Lead, train and motivate the kitchen team.
• Manage food costs, stock, ordering and suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Collaborate on menus for events and special dining experiences.
• Maintain operational efficiency while fostering creativity.
