Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Athletic Performance Coach for a prestigious sports academy in George, Western Cape. This hybrid role blends on-site coaching with remote program development to advance athlete performance from juniors to professionals.

You will design cutting-edge training, conduct assessments, and collaborate with coaches, medical staff, and nutritionists. A master's in a related field and at least five years of experience are expected, with supervisory leadership preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Physiology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years experience as an Athletic Performance Coach, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Certification from CSCS, SCCC, UKSCA or equivalent.
• Proven experience designing and implementing training programs for elite athletes across multiple sports.
• Strong biomechanics knowledge and ability to interpret physiological data.
• Proficiency with performance-tracking technologies and software.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive athletic performance programs tailored to athletes across sports.
• Conduct athlete assessments, movement screens, and conditioning evaluations to identify improvements.
• Provide hands-on coaching, supervise training sessions, and ensure safety and technique.
• Use data and metrics to monitor progress and adjust protocols for optimal development.
• Collaborate with coaches, medical staff, and nutritionists on integrated athlete support plans.
• Educate athletes on strength, conditioning, injury prevention, recovery, and nutrition.
• Stay current with sports science advances and training methodologies.
• Mentor junior coaching staff and manage facility operations to maintain a safe environment.
