Job summary

Zohorecruit in Johannesburg is seeking a Maintenance Coordinator to oversee preventative and breakdown maintenance while hands-on with tasks. You will manage the internal machine shop, supervise staff, and drive efficiency through fabrication and small projects.

The role requires strong machinery knowledge, good communication, and the ability to read technical drawings. A valid driver’s license and reliable transport are needed to operate across site.

Qualifications

• Experience with light industrial and engineering workshop machinery.
• Hands-on maintenance abilities with a proactive approach.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage preventative maintenance across the site.
• Oversee breakdown maintenance and plant downtime.
• Direct involvement in maintenance and fabrication tasks.
• Operate machine shop equipment (CNC/Manual lathes, milling machines).
• Manage machine shop staff, workload, and equipment.
• Contribute to design and fabrication for efficiency gains.
• Assist with internal projects (new equipment installs).
• Train machine shop staff and coordinate external contractors.
