Job summary

Jackie Cory Recruitment is assisting a manufacturing client in Port Elizabeth to recruit an Accountant / Financial Controller who will own a broad finance function. The role covers accounting, payroll, month-end, reporting, inventory, costing, compliance and team oversight.

You will lead month-end processes, prepare management reports, handle VAT and PAYE, work with external auditors and drive improvements in systems and controls. A hands-on, commercially minded professional is needed.

Qualifications

• BCom Accounting or relevant equivalent qualification.

Responsibilities

• Full day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping.
• Month-end close and management reporting.
• Monthly salaries and weekly wages.
• Debtors, creditors and reconciliations.
• Inventory, costing and manufacturing variances.
• VAT, PAYE, audit and compliance.
• Cash flow and working capital information.
• Reviewing and developing junior finance staff.
• Working with external auditors, tax practitioners and advisers.
• Improving systems, processes and financial controls.
