Job summary

ARVO is seeking a Group Head of Risk & Compliance to provide overarching governance and regulatory oversight across portfolio businesses. The role combines strategic guidance with hands-on expertise, evolving from shared resources to an in-house team as the group expands.

You will engage with executive leadership and boards, shaping compliance practices and risk management across multiple wealth management entities, while delivering value-added compliance services.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years' experience within financial services compliance.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a senior compliance leadership or function management role.
• Experience serving as AMLCO and/or Statutory Compliance Officer for a Financial Services Provider.
• Strong working knowledge of FAIS, FICA, and POPIA.
• Experience supporting Category I and II/IIA licensed businesses advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Risk & Compliance function and develop the group's service offering.
• Provide second-line risk and compliance oversight across the group and ensure timely regulatory submissions.
• Draft and maintain compliance programmes, policies, and regulatory documentation; board reporting.
• Coordinate and manage external compliance service providers and specialists.
